It was a wonderful day of celebration on Saturday 26th January 2019 at the Britannia Country House Hotel on Palatine Road.
The Friends Of Rose Hill’s Heritage Lottery Funded project “The amazing Watkins Of Rose Hill House & their Woods” came to a conclusion with an amazing drama performance by the pupils of St Wilfrid’s and Northenden Community School. Peter from Drama In Education organised the drama and we also got to view a fantastic and informative video from Jamie at JME-DZYNZ on the project and the history of the Watkins.
The Lord Mayor Of Manchester, Cllr. June Hitchen was inspirational and took time to tell the children about her role and how proud we should all be of Manchester and themselves for the work they had done on the project. Descendants of Edward & Absalom attended and were very pleased with ho we had brought the story to life. Over a 100 guests came along and made it a very special day.
We will create a special section of the website in due course but for now we can show these pictures from the day.
